What is Shinto? 4
So who is this God? Well, if we take the sun as an example, the sun gives its light and warmth to everyone and everything, without any shadow or shade! It truly is "all-round illumination" - shining everywhere!! It shines equally on everyone, without any distinction between good and evil, right or wrong, likes and dislikes.
And the mysterious providence of this endlessly expanding universe and the microcosm that is our body! It's amazing how we can see things in an instant when we open our eyes! A brain that can think about things that are farther and wider than the universe, and the power of the brain that can think even faster than light - this wonderland full of mysteries! This environment itself is the "Kingdom of God." We have reached the point where we can reach the moon, but we cannot even produce a single dandelion seed that blooms in the fields. Who created it? And when the season comes, they bloom and welcome us.
To borrow the words of Dr. Kazuo Murakami, God can only be described as Something Great. For someone like me who has seen a dragon in the sky, no matter what people say, God/Something Great does exist, so God is truly a being of awe. It's not a poem by Misuzu Kaneko, but "There are things that we cannot see..."
